About

The Department of Educational Sciences was established to train qualified teachers for primary and secondary education institutions and to train scientific experts in various fields of education. In line with this purpose, our department carries out the professional knowledge courses of the programs that train teachers for various fields of primary schools. Our department also conducts in-service training programs to contribute to the professional development of teachers and contributes to the society through courses, seminars and other activities that support individual development within the scope of lifelong learning. The graduate programs of the departments within our department are carried out; it trains scientific experts who will produce scientific solutions to the basic problems of education. Our department, which takes an active role in the development and placement of the Quality Assurance System in Education, which is carried out as a future project of our university, conducts various collaborations and educational activities at national and international level, and provides consultancy services in the field of education and training.

In the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling, school counselors and guidance counselors are trained at the undergraduate level.

Our department has a total of 29 full-time and tenured faculty members, including 8 Professors, 4 Associate Professors, 12 Assistant Professors, 1 Lecturer and 4 Research Assistants. Objective
The purpose of the establishment of our department is to train qualified teachers and school psychological counselors at primary and secondary education level and in various branches and scientific experts who will contribute to the basic fields of education through scientific research.

To train qualified teachers in different fields of primary and secondary education and to train scientific experts who have the competence to produce solutions to the basic problems of the field of educational sciences.

To become a department preferred by prospective teachers and science experts with its qualified education and scientific studies on the basic issues of education.
Graduation Requirements
Undergraduate students of the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling must complete 240 ECTS consisting of compulsory and elective courses in order to graduate.
It is necessary to complete 120 ECTS for graduation in Master's Programs with Thesis and 240 ECTS for graduation from Doctorate Programs.
Employment Opportunities
Teacher candidates enrolled in teaching programs by the faculty members of our department and graduates of our Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department have the opportunity to work as teachers and school counselors in the public and private sectors, and those who are science experts by obtaining postgraduate degrees have the opportunity to continue their academic careers as lecturers in Educational Sciences programs of universities.
