Objective
- To ensure that teacher candidates receive theoretical and practical knowledge regarding professional knowledge and elective courses within the scope of our department,
- To ensure that people who propose solutions to issues concerning the philosophical, social and historical foundations of education are trained,
- To ensure that academic staff and students produce quality and original publications in national and international arenas.
Mission
To raise students who are sensitive to issues related to the philosophical, social and historical foundations of education, who can produce solutions to today's educational problems by seeking traces from the past, who can evaluate the philosophical and social dimensions of education, who are sensitive to national problems, who have a developed historical consciousness and who are questioning.
Vision
To be a department that provides theoretical information to the extent required by prospective teachers in courses on the philosophical, social and historical foundations of education, and that allows prospective teachers to think from a historical and questioning perspective by bringing discussions on these issues into the classroom when necessary, and that can conduct original research and studies in this field.
Graduation Requirements
A student who is about to graduate must first successfully complete all of his/her courses and take at least 157 credits and 240 ECTS courses.
Employment Opportunities
Teacher candidates who take vocational knowledge coded courses within our department can work in public institutions and private sectors when they graduate. They can also continue their education through master's and doctoral degrees and have an academic career.
