Objective
The Primary Mathematics Education Program aims to train teachers for secondary schools who can think critically, creatively and freely, communicate effectively, know the ways to access information, and adopt a contemporary understanding of mathematics education through superior knowledge and exemplary practice.
Within the context of this purpose, the trainings provided are training teacher candidates who can use teaching technologies effectively, have basic knowledge and skills, question, make others question, and give importance to research.
Mission
To train mathematics teachers who can be a “correct model for their students” in their personal and professional lives, who can directly follow developments in their field, who can use their time efficiently and communicate effectively, who adopt scientific ethical rules, who are aware of lifelong learning, who think, research, examine, and are sensitive to people, society and nature.
Vision
The vision of the Primary School Mathematics Education Program is to be a department that trains mathematics teachers who are qualified to meet the needs of our country and the modern world, who have social leadership skills, who can cope with the challenges of the 21st century, and also aims to bring scientists to universities.
Graduation Requirements
A student who is about to graduate must first successfully complete all of his/her courses and meet the requirements for graduation by having a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 in courses with a minimum of 146 credits and 240 ECTS.
Employment Opportunities
Our graduates can work as primary school mathematics teachers in public or private educational institutions. They can also continue their education with master's and doctorate degrees and have an academic career and become academicians in higher education institutions. They can also work as educational designers and education experts in private companies that develop educational content.
